- You have strong customer service skills – you are patient and can assist others by providing clear information in writing, by phone, or in person.
- You have listening skills: you are able to listen carefully and understand and you ask questions to clarify.
- You are able to correctly complete math calculations in order to determine household eligibility based on income verification.
- You’re analytical: you can interpret documentation to see if someone meets program requirements; you have computer skills.
- You are detail oriented and precise in verifying information. You exercise discretion when working with household information to protect confidentiality.
- You’ll assist applicants with the energy assistance program application process. You’ll determine client eligibility and assist households with obtaining income verification from a variety of sources.
- You’ll review applications and enter information into the statewide database.
- You’ll help prioritize applications to provide emergency assistance to clients in crisis situations.
- You’ll provide outreach services to help publicize the energy assistance program, and will work with vendors in administering the program.
- High School diploma or GED; and two years’ related experience, or equivalent.
- A background in social services is preferred, but not required.
- You’ll receive on-the-job specialized training that can be completed in a year or less.
- You must have a strong commitment to BI-CAP's values of collaboration, innovation and compassion for those we serve.
- You’ll have the opportunity to make a difference in the community.
- Full-time, 40 hours/week, $19.26 - $26.97/hr., seasonal, 5 months, mid-Sept-Feb (depending on program funding). Eligible for paid time off and holiday pay.
