• Utilize survey equipment to calculate data points.
• Take field notes and use information to develop plans.
• Perform construction inspection for community and individual water supply.
• Ensure safety standards and environmental regulations are interpreted and applied as projects progress.
• Recognize errors and deficiencies in technical data.

The minimum qualification requires at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑06 or 1 full year of graduate‑level education directly related to the role, or a combination that meets 100% of the qualification requirements.

• GS‑7:
  Experience with general surveying, drafting, and construction inspection.
• OR – Completion of one full year of graduate‑level education directly related to the work of the Engineering Technician (e.g., engineering, construction, industrial technology).
• OR – A combination of specialized experience and education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.

Applicants may qualify at the GS‑07 level with both education and experience. Submit transcripts or a course list with titles, credit hours, and grades. Unofficial transcripts are accepted in the application package; official transcripts are required before an official offer. Only attendance and degrees from schools accredited by U.S. Department of Education institutions are eligible.

Salary is contingent on duty location and follows federal pay tables.
