Job Description & How to Apply Below

Company Overview: We are on a mission to create the antidote for modern life, providing a platform for reflection and AI-assisted chat with the community. Our goal is to enhance mental, physical, emotional, and social health during times of frustration and negativity. We believe in constant improvement and innovation to offer the best product for our users.

Position Overview: We are seeking an exceptional UX/UI Designer who is passionate about creating intuitive, user-centered designs. Our ideal candidate is a thinker who is not satisfied with the status quo and is always looking to iterate on better ways to engage and delight users. We actively use modern AI-assisted tools as part of our design and development workflow. Designers at Lore are encouraged to explore tools that accelerate thinking, prototyping, iteration, and collaboration, while maintaining strong design judgment and user empathy.

This role is for designers who take ownership, not tickets. You will be expected to proactively identify problems, propose solutions, and experiment with new approaches before being asked. If you need clearly defined tasks handed down to you, this role will feel uncomfortable. We need someone who thrives in a fast-paced, self-directed environment with high autonomy/ownership and is empowered to make decisions based on their expertise and user interface experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a proactive problem-finders, not a passive task executor
  • Stay curious about how AI and new tools are changing design work
  • Experiment, learn in public, and iterate quickly
  • Take responsibility for outcomes, not just deliverables
  • Be comfortable working with ambiguity and shaping your own direction
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
  • Use AI-assisted tools (such as Cursor and other emerging design or development copilots) to accelerate ideation, prototyping, documentation, and iteration
  • Actively explore and evaluate emerging tools and workflows that improve how UX/UI design work is done
  • Conduct ongoing user research through play testing to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement
  • Be a daily user of the Lore app to develop intuition for how it can change lives for our users
  • Collaborate with the design team, software engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the best user experience
  • Work with a Figma asset library to ensure brand consistency across all designs
  • Iterate quickly on designs based on user feedback and data
  • Advocate for the end user in all stages of the design process
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest UX/UI trends, techniques, and technologies
  • Work in a remote environment, attending daily video meetings and consistently producing high-quality results

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Training:
Degree in user experience design or related field
  • Proven Experience:

5+ years of UX/UI design experience, preferably in a fast-paced, iterative environment
  • User-Centric Mindset:
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices like Google Material Design and Apple Human Interface Guidelines standards Prototyping and Wire framing:
Proficiency with Figma (2+ years experience preferred)
  • AI Curiosity:
Actively exploring or interested in using AI tools to improve design quality, speed, or collaboration (experience with tools like Cursor is a plus)
  • Research and Testing:
Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and A/B testing
  • Visual Design

    Skills:

Strong visual design skills with an eye for detail, including typography, color, and layout
  • Collaboration:

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Agility:
Ability to quickly iterate on designs and respond to user feedback
  • Decision Making:
Empowered to make decisions based on expertise and user interface experience
  • Innovative Thinking: A thinker and dreamer who constantly seeks better, more intuitive user interfaces
  • Software

    Skills:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) preferred
  • Self-Directed:
Highly self-motivated and self-directed, with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Passion for Health and Wellness:
Enthusiasm for creating products that enhance mental, physical, emotional, and social health

Why Join Us:

  • Impactful Work: Be part of a team that is dedicated to making a positive impact on people's lives.
