Where Healing Meets Heritage — serve a vibrant community on the Red Lake Reservation in northern Minnesota
Red Lake is a welcoming community nestled in the wooded lake country of northern Minnesota, about 25 miles north of Bemidji. Home to the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians, the area is rich in Native American culture, history, and tradition. The landscape features rolling forests, pristine lakes, and wide-open prairies — a nature lover's paradise. Upper Red Lake is renowned for outstanding walleye and crappie fishing, while the surrounding state forests and wildlife management areas offer excellent hunting, hiking, canoeing, and snowmobiling.
Nearby Bemidji — "First City on the Mississippi" — provides shopping, dining, and cultural attractions including the Watermark Art Center and Paul Bunyan State Trail. Community amenities in Red Lake include a recreation center with swimming pool, the Boys and Girls Club, and the nearby Seven Clans Casino.
Red Lake Hospital is a comprehensive Indian Health Service (IHS) facility and the sole healthcare provider within a 30-mile radius. The multi-disciplinary 23-bed hospital offers a full spectrum of services including emergency medicine, inpatient and outpatient care, behavioral health, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, and a modern 11-chair dental clinic completed in 2010. The dental department serves approximately 10,000 patients and provides urgent and routine dental care to the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians and surrounding communities.
Healthcare professionals here enjoy a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting impact in an underserved population.
