Food and Beverage Assistant Manager

ASM Global seeks a Food and Beverage Manager for The Sanford Center to oversee professional client services, event planning, and operations for Suites, Catering, and Concessions.

• Manage service expectations for Suites and Catering, ensuring highest level of customer satisfaction.
• Oversee Concessions Operations for all events, maintaining consistency and accountability.
• Act as Manager on Duty for events—banquets, backstage catering, concessions, and other activities.
• Strategic planning and development of inventory control, point‐of‐sale systems, catering sales, and guest experiences.
• Identify opportunities to increase profit by challenging existing processes.

• Interview, hire, schedule, train, and evaluate staff, in conjunction with Human Resources.
• Provide performance appraisals, discipline, and conduct coaching.
• Address complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner.

• Directly supervise the Concessions Manager or Supervisor.
• Provide coaching and evaluation of concessions management performance.
• Assist in training concessions employees and NPO group members on relevant policies.

• Collaborate with Event Managers to acquire new clients and maintain existing customer base.
• Follow up with prospects, ensuring guarantees are submitted per proposal guidelines.
• Produce Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and coordinate with necessary parties.
• Order linen, supplies, and equipment; maintain inventories of banquet items.
• Create weekly food and beverage schedules; submit to relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor customer service, handle complaints, and oversee event set‑up.

• Lead all Food and Beverage department staff in compliance with ASM Global, SAVOR, and TSC policies.
• Coordinate with other departments to deliver quality service across the business.
• Maintain monthly inventory for Concessions and Suites/Catering events.
• Ensure compliance with health inspection requirements and maintain proper cleaning procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Food and Beverage.

• High school diploma or GED required; significant related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in management, catering, concessions, inventory control, order management, point‑of‑sale systems, and menu planning in an arena or stadium environment.
• Knowledge of industry terminology and excellent customer service skills.
• Strong communication, organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead, delegate, and manage multiple projects under strict deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; general spreadsheet and word‑processing knowledge.
• Must be able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must pass a credit check and background screening.

• Serv Safe Food certification preferred.
• Serv Safe Alcohol certification preferred.
• Serv Safe Allergens certification preferred.
• Required for management positions in Omaha by SAVOR.

Standing, walking, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and for long periods of time.
