The Impact You Will Make in this RoleThe Commercial Services Product Manager is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering technology solutions that align with business goals and customer needs. This role serves as the primary liaison between stakeholders, business teams, and technical development teams to ensure successful product delivery. The Commercial Services Product Manager owns the product backlog, clarifies requirements, and ensures that delivered features provide measurable value.
Responsibilities- Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities.
- Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring items are prioritized based on business value and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, developers, QA, UX/UI designers, and project managers.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Make informed decisions on feature scope, trade‑offs, and release timing.
- Monitor product performance and user feedback to guide continuous improvement.
- Ensure alignment between technology solutions and organizational goals.
- Document functional requirements, workflows, and product specifications.
- Support change management and user adoption efforts.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or a science field (completed and verified prior to start).
- Five (5) years of experience with IT program/project/product leadership in a private, public, government, or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
- Proficiency with backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure Dev Ops, or similar).
- Proficiency in Commercial Services business processes.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Ability to drive cross functional teams for successful delivery of solutions.
