Ops Supervisor - Station

This frontline supervisor position supports Fed Ex's Safety Above All Culture and manages day-to-day operations and an assigned staff. It ensures safe and efficient package sortation through management of Package Handlers. The Operations Supervisor may also manage administrative employees and functions and ensures administrative processes comply with Fed Ex policies, procedures, and government regulations.

• Serve as a champion for Fed Ex's Safety Above All Culture and support all related initiatives.
• Manage hiring, terminations, coaching, training, recognition and rewards, performance evaluation and discipline, addressing employee concerns, and staff productivity.
• Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control specific day-to-day operations.
• Assign and manage employees to ensure the safe and efficient sortation of packages, minimizing operational cost and maximizing quality, including movement, tracking, and administration of trailers (in conjunction with the linehaul department as applicable).
• Analyze operational performance through direct observation, interpretation of reports, and collaboration with others; determine opportunities for improvement of key metrics and execute action plans to achieve results.
• Lead daily employee and/or planning meetings to ensure workforce communication and understanding of operational updates and daily goals; provide communication and public speaking to small and large audiences on a regular basis.
• Participate in developing and administering company employee relations strategies, maintaining confidentiality of relevant material and matters.
• Participate in developing and administering company safety strategies and programs.
• Investigate, resolve, and/or escalates customer service issues as appropriate.
• Train new employees regarding job duties and performance expectations and ensure compliance with FXG policies, procedures, and other training requirements, including quality assurance, SWAK, hazardous materials, Video Event Data Recorder (VEDR) coaching, and dock safety.
• Mentor and develop critical skill sets for new and/or less-experienced Operations Supervisors.
• Adapt quickly to change to meet dynamic business needs; display flexibility and appropriate sense of urgency while engaging employees in a positive and professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED required;
  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• In lieu of experience, certification program or Associate’s Degree in a related area, or 2+ years of college courses toward a degree.
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).

• Six (6) months experience required in the following areas: package handler at Fed Ex, fast-paced environment (retail, hospitality, fulfillment center, warehouse, dock, or stock room/stock functions), military experience with honorable discharge, or supervisory experience.

• Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team.

• Proven ability to apply sound business judgment to establish and accomplish goals.
• Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with various audience levels and group sizes.
• Ability to effectively provide employees instruction on process and practice.
• Ability to read, interpret, and draw conclusions from numerical data and written information.
• Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
• Ability to maintain a working knowledge of relevant technology-based projects, including various devices and computer-based applications.
• Ability to mentor, coach, and act as a knowledge resource to other employees.

• May need to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• May work in hot or cold temperatures.
• May work in an environment with loud noise and fumes.
• Minimal travel required.

Pay: $24.75 / hr - $38.43 / hr.

Full Time position for 30 hours per week:
Tuesday - Saturday, 3:00 am - 9:00 am.
