Position: QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN - AGGREGATES (SEASONAL)
ROLE OVERVIEW
Our season kicks off in April and runs through November, with the possibility of extending into December. As a seasonal team member, you’ll enjoy keeping your benefits all year long during the off season.
This position is responsible to safely collect samples of crushed stone, aggregate, sand, asphalt, ready mix or gravel and test for conformance to specifications. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
The typical hours are Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM with Saturday as needed. Hours may vary depending on weather and customer demand.
COMPENSATION
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experience.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect material samples, identify material, and compile statistical data on test results.Examine and evaluate data - determine material quality in relation to specifications.Maintain all required DOT certifications.Conduct finished and in-process inspections.Safely and properly perform laboratory tests on variety of materials (Aggregate and/or Concrete and/or Asphalt).Perform arithmetic operations and record findings and needed actions.Maintain lab and equipment along with daily housekeeping.Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others. Communicate test results to appropriate stakeholders.Ensure work activities comply with OSHA, EPA, safety and environmental regulations. Good housekeeping skills.Travel is required.Performs other duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent.Aggregate testing experience preferred.Aggregate production certification preferred.GIS/GPS background preferred.Current valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.BENEFITS
