The Community Behavioral Health Hospital (CBHH) in Bemidji has an opening for a talented Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. Operated by the Minnesota Department of Human Services, CBHHs are 16‑bed inpatient psychiatric facilities for adults experiencing a serious mental health episode. The length of stay is usually less than 30 days, during which treatment focuses on stabilization, patient education, and discharge planning involving community support resources, with the overall goal of preventing future episodes.
As the Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide nursing care, treatment, and instruction to patients in a hospital level of care setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Complete daily nursing cares including administering and monitoring medications and treatments to ensure medical responsibilities are accomplished. Develop therapeutic relationships and engage with patients while prioritizing safety and aiding patients in progressing with their treatment plan goals and objectives.
Maintain and provide a safe, clean, and therapeutic work environment for treatment.
- Possess or be eligible for licensure in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse.
*** Future Practical Nurses who are within six (6) months of graduating and taking their NCLEX‑LPN are encouraged to apply. Contingent job offers may be made upon successful completion of degree and passing of NCLEX‑LPN.
Preferred Qualifications
- Patient care experience within a mental health or behavioral health setting.
- Experience working with adults in a treatment setting.
- Experience working in a secure facility.
