• Deliver care within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and in accordance with current federal, state, and Veterans Administration regulations.
• Provide assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver resident-centered care addressing physical and psychosocial needs of residents.

• Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions and in good standing. If not licensed in Minnesota, ability to obtain licensure by date of hire. Final offers may be contingent on degree completion and NCLEX-RN passing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, or ability to be certified by date of hire.
• Effective communication to provide and follow instructions and teach skills to residents.
• Computer skills sufficient to complete electronic charting, specifically in Point Click Care .

• Experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or other senior healthcare environment.
• Experience working with a Veteran population.
• Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care provided by other staff, make or recommend changes, and provide mentoring.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and techniques to provide effective care and the ability to make nursing-related decisions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
• Experience with Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments.

• May require a Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check for top finalists; finalists must pass.
• Tuberculosis screening (Mantoux) or chest X-ray required prior to employment.
• Employment reference checks may be conducted.

The position is part-time, primarily evening shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm) with days varying, including weekends. The work schedule is at least 48 hours per 2-week pay period and may include additional hours based on business needs. Salary range is $40.59 - $60.06 per hour, plus a $2.75 per hour shift differential for all hours worked between 6:00pm and 6:00am. Partial employer contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits is available.
