Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and strike audio, video, lighting, and presentation equipment for live events, meetings, and productions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to audiovisual systems before and during events to ensure seamless execution.
  • Coordinate with clients, event staff, and vendors to understand production requirements and deliver high-quality event support.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, testing, and inventory management of audiovisual equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Assist with event load‑in/load‑out activities, including equipment transportation, cabling, staging, and system configuration.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in a live performing arts venue/center/theater.
  • Technical degree or certification preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience working with stagehand personnel.
  • Knowledge of operations, maintenance, and facility management.
  • Working knowledge of applicable OSHA, state, and other work environment safety regulations.
  • Working knowledge of fire and public safety issues.
Compensation

Competitive hourly wage ($15.00) commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and a 401(k) plan. Hours range from 5 to 20 per week on an event‑based schedule.

Location:

On Site – The Sanford Center, Bemidji, MN. Physical Demands:
The role requires lifting, moving, and setting up equipment, operating in varying lighting and sound conditions, and maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with OSHA, state, and facility safety regulations.
