Role overview: This is a full-time seasonal position. This is a 49er Union position. As a Ready-Mix driver, you will operate a ready-mix truck to load, transport and unload ready-mixed concrete at various locations while practicing proper traffic, site and delivery safety procedures. You will display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members and provide excellent customer service and be knowledgeable about material properties.
Responsibilities- Perform daily truck inspections and report needed repairs.
- Daily maintenance of equipment.
- Drive truck under loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement and water and start mixer, adjust ready-mix to proper slump, rinse down, load area, and clean off material spilled on outside of drum.
- Drive truck equipped with auxiliary concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites.
- Drive truck to location for unloading, attach chutes and unload concrete.
- Clean truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck, using water hose and hoe.
- Drive trucks including ready mix, septic, block and aggregate materials.
- Recognize surroundings and practice traffic awareness to maintain a safe environment.
- Clean and maintain truck.
- Ensure proper loading and adjusting of ready mix to proper slump.
- Add value-added supplies, such as re-rod, chloride or sealers, etc as needed.
- Ensure DOT, MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
- Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A CDL Class B license or higher with two years truck driving experience.
- Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure, medical card, and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.
Compensation: $20.75 - $22.35/Hour Plus Fringe Benefits (Contribution to Health and Wellness, Pension, etc)
