C.R. Contracting is seeking a full-time General Ledger (GL) Accountant to join our teamin Bend, Oregon.

We are seeking a meticulous General Ledger (GL) Accountant who thrives in a detail-oriented environment and takes full ownership of maintaining clean, accurate, andtimely financial records. In this role, you will be deeply involved in daily accounting operations, the month-end close process, and job costing support within a dynamic construction environment. You will collaborate closely with project managers and internal teams to ensure all costs are accurately captured and appropriately coded.

Responsibilities of the Role:
Preparing and posting journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, andreallocations. Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances. Supporting the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Processing accounts payable (AP) invoices, ensuring accurate coding to job numbers, cost codes, and general ledger (GL) accounts. Reviewing invoices for required information, such as purchase orders (PO), job numbers, equipment, and scope of work.

Following up with project managers and field staff to obtain any missing or incomplete information. Assisting in maintaining job costing accuracy and tracking costs across multiple projects. Providing supporting data for work-in-progress (WIP) schedules and project reporting. Maintaining organized documentation to support audit requirements and internal reviews. Applying analytical and problem-solving skills to manage multiple priorities and deliver results.

Qualifications required:
Minimum of 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent work experience will be considered; CPA certification is preferred. Demonstrate proven experience with General Ledger and reconciliations. Proficiency in work-in-progress (WIP) accounting and job costing, along with advanced skills in digital tools such as Quick Books, Excel, Google Chat, Zoom,and Gmail.
