Primary Purpose
Students in this position will assist Admissions & Records staff with general office duties, including filing, mailings, data entry and various projects/events as needed. Student workers may also provide assistance to transcript & degree evaluators in the Admissions & Records department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide clerical support to Admissions and Records office.
- Prep and assemble multiple mailings to prospective and current students, which include labeling, alphabetizing, stuffing envelopes and, at times using the folder/inserter machine
- Assist with various projects as they occur – to include posting announcements on bulletin boards across campus, or shredding documents.
- Scan and electronically file confidential documents.
- Input privacy-protected data in COCC’s student database. Requires attention to detail.
- Assist staff with new student advising sessions.
- Other duties as assigned.

Regular office hours are established between 8 am – 5 pm during the workweek. A flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities.
Incumbent must be able to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature. Requires the ability to work at a workstation for extended periods. Requires to write, read written materials and computer screens, and ability to use telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting up to 25lbs. All individuals are required to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

- Meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid.
