Outside Plant Manager

The Role

Richesin Engineering builds and maintains outside plant infrastructure in places most contractors won't go — remote Oregon, Alaska bush communities, Pacific island terrain. We're looking for an Outside Plant Manager who can lead a mixed crew of tower climbers, fiber splicers, and construction technicians and actually get the work done right. This is a field-first leadership role. You'll be managing crew performance, coordinating job-site logistics, maintaining safety compliance, and keeping projects on schedule — while staying hands‑on enough to know when something's wrong before it becomes a problem.

Travel is a significant part of this role. Projects span Oregon, Alaska, and Hawaii. We handle logistics and per diem — you bring the leadership and the technical depth to back it up.

• Lead and supervise crews of tower climbers, fiber splicers, and OSP construction technicians
• Manage day‑to‑day field operations across fiber construction and tower projects
• Coordinate job‑site logistics including equipment, materials, and crew scheduling
• Oversee fusion splicing operations and ensure quality control on fiber builds
• Enforce safety protocols and maintain full OSHA compliance on all job sites
• Read and interpret OSP construction drawings, strand maps, and splice schematics
• Interface with project managers, engineers, and clients to communicate progress and flag issues
• Complete daily field reports, as‑built documentation, and crew timesheets accurately
• Mentor junior technicians and hold the crew to a high standard of workmanship

• 5+ years of experience in outside plant construction, fiber, or tower work
• Demonstrated crew leadership or supervisory experience in a field environment
• Working knowledge of fusion splicing, OTDR testing, and fiber construction practices
• Tower climbing certification (Com Train, NWSA, or equivalent) preferred
• Ability to read OSP construction drawings and splice schematics
• Strong safety mindset — OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record; CDL a plus
• Comfortable with extended travel and remote project environments
• Clear communicator who can manage up to project managers and down to junior crew
