Central Oregon Pediatric Associates (COPA) has been caring for kids and families in Central Oregon for over 50 years, building lifelong relationships and helping children thrive from newborns to teens. Part time (.6 FTE, 3 days/week)

• Embrace the mission, vision, and values of Central Oregon Pediatric Associates (COPA)
• Work with the COPA care team to consistently and equitably provide the highest level of pediatric primary care to all patients, inclusive of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, national origin, religious beliefs, and disability status
• Work with the care team to provide full-spectrum pediatric panel management, including well-child care, chronic disease management, immunizations, screening and follow-up, and risk assessment and proactive management, along with yearly pediatric quality metrics
• Interact with diverse families in a welcoming manner with warm, engaging bedside interactions
• Perform skilled history taking from families and patients from birth through teen years with the ability to adapt as the patient grows
• Perform indicated physical exams appropriate to the patient’s age to facilitate workup, diagnosis, and management
• Use best practice guidelines to screen, monitor, and track physical, developmental, and behavioral health milestones, with appropriate interventions and follow-up
• Reach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and individual medical history, after thoroughly assessing the child and asking relevant questions; use resources and supervising physician as needed
• Prescribe medications as appropriate and provide detailed administration instructions in accordance with state law and practice guidelines
• Order and interpret appropriate lab tests relevant to the patient’s presentation to determine management; communicate results and follow-up plan clearly with family/patient
• Follow up with patients and caregivers as necessary after examination to monitor progress and adherence to treatment recommendations
• Advise, educate, and counsel patients and caregivers on pediatric anticipatory guidance topics following American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines including nutrition, immunizations, diet, fitness, safety, sleep, and disease prevention
• With the team of Care Coordinators and Community Health Workers, recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs
• Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information, documenting clearly and concisely
• Provide comprehensive care for newborns in the newborn nursery on the day of discharge to facilitate transition to outpatient care
• Collaborate with APPs and MDs to rotate coverage for evening and weekend access for patients
• Primary location of shifts in the Redmond location, with rotation through the East Bend clinic as needed for patient access
• Keep informed of advancements in pediatric medicine and best practices through continuing education, including pediatric urgent care skills
• Collaborate with specialists and other staff in developing care management strategies and plans for pediatric patients
