The Licensed Medical Provider in this role delivers addiction medicine treatment and management of associated health conditions in an outpatient setting. This position is an integral part of an interdisciplinary team that includes experienced physicians, advanced practice providers, RNs, LPNs, and substance use counselors. The provider is responsible for initiating treatment and providing ongoing management of substance use disorders as chronic medical conditions.

Responsibilities include prescribing and managing oral and long-acting injectable medications, including medications subject to REMS and DEA requirements; completing histories and physical examinations; and developing individualized, patient-centered treatment plans. A strong foundation in primary care is important to effectively address the complex medical needs of this patient population. The position averages approximately 25 hours per week across a 2.5- to 3-day workweek, with clinical days generally consisting of direct patient care and associated care coordination.

The provider will also participate in a shared call rotation, one weekday and one weekend per month. Currently, call coverage supports Residential Services and may include admission orders, medication management, and response to urgent medical issues within the scope of the program. As organizational needs and service models evolve, call responsibilities may transition to supporting Withdrawal Management services. The anticipated long-term structure is approximately one weekend of call per month, without routine weekday call.

Call assignments and specific responsibilities may vary based on program needs and will be communicated as part of the provider’s coverage schedule.

Education and/ or Experience Requirements:

• Medical Degree (APP, MD, DO, PA, NP) from accredited university is required;
• Experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, primary care and dual-diagnosis care is preferred.
