Position: Programming Coordinator 2026/27

Position Summary

The Office of Student Life enhances the mission of OSU-Cascades by its own mission of social change agents and social responsibility, empowering students to engage in challenges and discovery, and implementing programs and frameworks that are student informed. The Student Activities group plans campus-wide events and supports recognized student organizations. The Programming Coordinator will plan, coordinate, and execute various events throughout the year.

This recruitment will fill three part‑time Programming Coordinator positions for the academic year at 15 hours per week with a rate of $17.30 per hour. Training begins Tuesday, September 8.

Hours:

fall – week 0–10, winter – week 1–10, spring – week 1–finals week.

Required events include Saturday, September 19 (move‑in event, evening), Sunday, September 20 (SSC Takeover, evening), and one additional event during week 0/1. The position is located in Bend, Oregon. Students receiving Work Study are welcome to apply.

Position Duties
  • Event Planning and Support (60%) – Plan, initiate, manage, complete, and evaluate event plans, including timeline, budget, and promotion.
  • Evaluate Student Activities events, including reports and recommendations.
  • Coordinate staffing and assign duties with event staff and external vendors.
  • Administrative Responsibilities (25%) – Collaborate with Student Activities to set goals, maintain office hours, engage students, faculty, staff, and visitors, attend staff meetings, support development of training materials, use Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Planner, and complete other administrative tasks.
  • Other Position Responsibilities (15%) – Represent Student Activities on committees or work groups, promote diversity and social justice, represent to OSU-Cascades and Central Oregon community, engage in professional development.
  • Time Breakdown – Nine hours office hours, four hours event lead/support, switching weekly, thirty minutes weekly program review, sixty minutes weekly Student Activities meetings.
  • Interviews begin after applications are received; remaining positions may be reposted mid‑July.
  • Required Training – Tuesday, September 8 through Thursday, September 17, 8 hours a day.
  • Required Events – Saturday, September 19, Sunday, September 20, and one additional event during week 0/1.
  • Eligibility – Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and meet academic standing requirements.
  • Minimum enrollment – High school: regular enrollment; undergraduate/post‑baccalaureate: 6 credit hours/term; undergraduate international: 12 credit hours/term; graduate: 5 credit hours/term; graduate international: 9 credit hours/term.

  • Previous committee experience.
  • Experience with Bend Beavs Central and Microsoft Office
    365.
  • Eligible to return as a student for 2027‑2028 academic year (junior standing or below).
  • Good academic standing and GPA of at least 2.5 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate).
