As an Employment Consultant you will facilitate inclusive employment for individuals with diverse abilities. You will carry a caseload of individuals who need support with finding employment, providing career assessments and job readiness training, and working with community employers to educate them about developing a diverse workforce and understanding reasonable accommodations.

This is a full‑time (40 hours per week) position that may require weekend and holiday availability.

Responsibilities
  • Build relationships with local businesses to identify job opportunities for individuals, with or without ADA accommodations.
  • Educate employers on the benefits of a diverse workforce and promote inclusive hiring practices.
  • Conduct worksite assessments and support individuals in integrating into workplace culture.
  • Provide on‑site support, encouragement, and advocacy as needed.
  • Guide individuals through job preparation activities such as resume writing, interview practice, and transportation planning.
  • Deliver Discovery/Career Exploration services and develop vocational profiles.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with support teams to ensure consistent, person‑centered services.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 months of job coaching experience and at least 1 year working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Or one of the following:
    Certified Employment Supported Professional (CESP) certification; completion of the Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE) collaborative training;
    Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) training certificate; or a bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or Special Education.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support individuals.
  • Open to working with all individuals regardless of gender identity, sexuality, race, or religion.
  • Proficiency in software applications and tracking systems (e.g., Microsoft Office, virtual meeting platforms, online training modules).
  • Strong problem‑solving, conflict resolution, and de‑escalation skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of work products.
  • Physical ability to assist in lifting, repositioning, or transferring individuals; occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs and frequently lifting up to 25 lbs; frequent bending and stooping in varied job sites.
  • Ability to meet background check, reference, and organization’s driving requirements of having a current and valid driver’s license and no more than two driving infractions in the last two years.
