Starting Wage/Salary $61,560 – $72,009 plus exceptional benefits. Subject to change due to ongoing faculty negotiations.

Faculty Status:
This is a full‑time tenure track faculty position represented by the Faculty Forum, not eligible for overtime. The assigned position is 9 months (179 days) per academic year.
- Planning, implementation, promotion and assessment of the Library’s Information Literacy (IL) program in collaboration with library and other departmental faculty.
- Participation in all aspects of library instructional services, including teaching online and asynchronous credit courses, one‑shot instruction sessions, embedded librarian classes, and book‑a‑librarian appointments on the main and branch campuses.
- Creation of course‑specific resources, guides and online tutorials for use in both traditional and virtual environments that meet student learning needs at all COCC campuses.
- Support for College Now courses and other K‑12 initiatives that address information literacy.
- Maintenance of current skills with library instruction techniques, technologies and information literacy theories. Continuous professional engagement at state, regional and national levels.
- Leadership, planning, promotion and assessment of the library’s reference/research assistance services to students, faculty and other patron groups on all COCC campuses, including research assistance via library reference and research services.
- Oversight and evaluation of the work of the Part‑Time Instruction and Outreach Librarian on the Redmond campus.
- Development, implementation and assessment of reference/research and instructional library services to Bend, Redmond, Prineville and Madras campuses.
- Collaboration in the development of library marketing and outreach materials to promote library services at all COCC campuses, including the planning, implementation and assessment of the Library’s Outreach Plan.
- Participation on the library’s leadership team, which includes the Library Director, the Collection Development and Acquisitions Librarian, the Head of Access Services and the Systems and Discovery Librarian, and participation in general planning and policy implementation for the library.
- Participation in library outreach activities such as Bobcat Orientations, student or faculty trainings, Poetry Month activities, etc.
- Participation in assessment of other library activities and programs.
- Student advising – each COLLEGE faculty member is required to provide academic advising to an average of 35 students.
- Representation of COCC library on Open Oregon Open Educational Resources (OER)/Affordable Course Materials Workgroup and participation in related discussions about OER on COCC’s campuses.
- Community service – as part of responsibilities and criteria for promotion, faculty are expected to provide service both inside the college’s district and beyond, including state and national service.
- Participation in college governance – involvement in collaborative efforts, committee service and other activities to improve the operation, systems, faculty/staff and student performance (e.g., peer teams, assessment projects, accreditation efforts, new program development, special projects/task forces).
- Participation in library meetings, training sessions and other college academic activities.
- Availability for some weekend and evening hours.
- Performance of other essential special assignments as requested by the Library Director.
