The Campus Monitor contributes to a safe, orderly, and welcoming school environment through active campus presence and structured monitoring of student activity in common areas and school grounds. The position provides consistent supervisionofstudentsduringhigh-trafficandnon-instructional times,including arrival,dismissal,passing periods,lunch, recess, and school events.

Theroleemphasizesproactiveobservation,relationship-building,andclearcommunicationtopromotepositivestudent behavior and overall school climate. The Campus Monitor reinforces established school expectations and reports concerns to administrators in a timely manner.

The Campus Monitordoesnotsupervisestaff ,conduct investigations,orperformlawenforcementfunctions.

All responsibilities are carried out under the direction of an administrator and in alignment with district policies and procedures.

• Providesactivesupervisionofstudentsinhallways,common areas,parking lots,cafeterias,outdoor grounds,and during arrival, dismissal, passing periods, and school events.
• Maintainsapositiveandorderlycampusenvironmentthroughvisiblepresenceandconsistentsupervision practices.
• Observescampusactivityandpromptlyreportssafetyconcerns,policy violations,orbehavioralissusto administrators or designee.
• Uses district-approvedcommunicationtoolstomaintainsituationalawareness,report concerns,andfollow up as needed.
• Redirectsstudentbehaviorthroughverbalguidanceandde-escalationtechniquesconsistentwithdistrict expectations.
• Supportsadministratorsandstudentservicesstaffbyreinforcingestablishedbehaviorandattendance expectations.
• Supervisesanddirectsvisitormovementtoensurecompliancewithschoolcheck-in procedures.
• Assistswithstructuredarrivalanddismissalprocedures,includingpedestrianandvehicleflow supervision.
• Maintainsradiocommunicationwithdesignatedschoolpersonnelduringassignedsupervision duties.
• Accompaniesstudentstoadministratorsordesignatedstaffwhen directed.
• Developsandmaintainsprofessionalworkingrelationshipswithstudents,staff,andfamiliestofosterarespectful school climate.
• Assistswithsupervision-relatedpreparationsfortheopeningandclosingoftheschool year.
• Performsrelateddutiesas assigned.

Work is performed primarily in school-based settings, including hallways, cafeterias, common areas, entry points, and outdoorcampusspaces.

Thepositionrequiresprolongedstandingandwalking,frequentmovementthroughoutcampus, monitoring large groups of students, and the ability to respond quickly to developing situations. The role may involve occasional lifting or moving items consistent with supervision duties.

The employee may be exposed to elevated noise levels, high-traffic environments, varying weather conditions when supervising outdoors,andstudentbehavioralincidents.
