Senior Traffic Engineer
Location: United States - Oregon, Portland (Other locations: Oregon-Salem, Oregon-Bend, Washington-Vancouver)
Schedule: Full-time
Business Class: Traffic Engineering

Pay Range: $122,084 - $174,405 (dependent on skills, experience, education, location)
Responsibilities- Perform complex traffic engineering projects and prepare PS&E documents
- Conduct traffic design tasks including conceptual signing, striping, signal, lighting, ITS, temporary traffic control, and construction phasing
- Make engineering and design decisions as needed
- Serve as a technical expert and task lead on large, complex projects
- Coordinate design issues with clients and project team to develop solutions to technical challenges
- Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium single‑discipline projects or large tasks for regional projects
- Independently coordinate work of engineers and balance team workload throughout project development
- Establish client relationships and participate in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
- Participate in reviews with governing agencies for compliance
- Conduct work sessions for design development and contract documents with other staff
- Track financial aspects of projects and adjust work effort to stay within schedule parameters
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 10 years experience in ITS and traffic engineering for urban and rural highways, interchanges, and intersections
- Professional engineering license recognized in the location (e.g., PE or P.Eng)
- Knowledge of state and federal transportation regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with HCS, CORSIM, Synchro/SIM Traffic and other software packages
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills; team‑oriented
