Project Engineer or Engineering Associate

The City of Bend is accepting applications for one (1) regular, full-time Project Engineer or Engineering Associate in the Engineering Department. The City of Bend’s Engineering team plays a critical role in shaping and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our growing community. This position offers an opportunity to work on meaningful capital improvement and infrastructure projects that improve public safety, mobility, and quality of life for Bend residents. Depending on experience and licensure, the successful candidate may be hired as a Project Engineer or an Engineering Associate, with work assignments aligned accordingly.

In this role, you will contribute to the planning, design review, coordination, and delivery of public works projects such as transportation, utilities, and municipal infrastructure. A typical day may include reviewing engineering plans, coordinating with internal teams and consultants, responding to technical questions, tracking project schedules and budgets, and supporting construction or inspection activities. Project Engineers will manage projects more independently, while Engineering Associates will work under the supervision of a licensed engineer and build their professional skill set.
