The Nordic Lead ensures an outstanding guest experience for all Nordic guests through daily leadership in accordance with company and departmental policies. This is a non-supervisory position that requires a high level of proficiency with the Nordic Center’s ticketing, rental, and retail sales operations. The Nordic Lead should have a strong understanding of the Nordic Center’s daily lodge operations, advanced level RTP experience, attention to detail, and superb customer service skills.
The position requires a strong interest and proficiency in Nordic skiing with knowledge of all facility operations, lesson programs, ticketing, ski rentals, and retail procedures. This is a part‑time winter seasonal position, and hours may fluctuate during the season.
- Opening and closing duties of daily business and facilities.
- Efficient, accurate ticketing, rental, and retail sales.
- Provide support as needed to Lodge Staff to carry out these tasks as well.
- Lesson Program sales.
- Advanced experience in RTP is required to effectively book lessons in this role.
- Current computer skills are required, and RTP training will be provided.
- Answering a wide range of customer questions via phone and in‑person with accurate information and friendly customer service.
- Monitoring of ticket stock and office supplies.
- Daily inspections and oversight of rental equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Maintaining safety and cleanliness of Lodge facility, and notifying the supervisor on duty when concerns arise.
- In conjunction with the Manager or Supervisor on duty, handling and coordinating all incidents, contacting emergency personnel when required.
- Gracious and effective handling of all guest and employee concerns and problems.
- Communicating with Nordic Manager regarding safety issues, operational needs, staffing and personnel issues.
- Cover other Nordic Center staff’s lunch and rest breaks or fill in in various roles if the team is short‑staffed.
- Flexibility and willingness to work in a team setting.
- Assist in training new employees in department procedures.
- Assist with Nordic Center event planning and execution as directed by Manager.
- Assist in developing content for the Nordic Center’s social media.
Assist in the daily operations of a nationally recognized Nordic ski operation, 56 km groomed trail network maintained daily from November through May with Ticket, Retail, Rental, Event, Lesson Program and F&B operations. Assist in training, motivating, and creating a safe workplace for 40 paid employees and 12 volunteers.
