3) by June 18, 2026!  These positions are eligible for a hybrid remote schedule assigned to one of the Department’s offices—Salem, Bend, or North Bend—and will report onsite one to two days per month. In addition, the position requires travel to sites within Oregon on short notice, including same‐day travel; therefore, living within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned office is expected.

The GIS Analyst supports DSL’s GIS program by providing spatial data, tools, and training that help field staff make informed decisions in environmental monitoring and land management. The role assists with research, forest operations, monitoring, HCP (Habitat Conservation Plan) compliance, and FMP (Forest Management Plan) requirements. Responsibilities include leading data collection, developing GIS standards, creating maps and field‐data tools, training staff, and advising programs on GIS use.

Knowledge of natural resources and environmental issues—including wetlands and waterways—is required. The analyst also supports agency GIS policy development and may coordinate larger project efforts.

These positions will report directly to either our Salem, Bend, or North Bend offices. These are a full-time, permanent positions represented by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).
