JOB SUMMARYWorks in conjunction with our Interventional Radiology Coordinators, Interventional Radiology Physician Extenders, and the Interventional Radiologists and Interventional Radiology Clinical staff to ensure the delivery of quality patient care. The Certified Medical Assistant will perform a variety of patient care duties, within their scope of practice or standard of care. These may include but are not limited to, provider supervised assistance and chaperoning with examinations and procedures, managing patient flow in clinic and procedure areas, patient preparation, assisting with patient discharge, as well as clean-up and preparation of treatment areas and recovery bays for the next procedure.
The Certified Medical Assistant will also assist with administrative front and back-office duties, including but not limited to, patient registration and check-in, obtaining patient history, supply management, room turn-over, autoclave management, scheduling, and facilitating follow-up patient and/or referring physician communication.
Registered Radiologist Assistant (RRA)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Properly identifies patients using at least two data points (name, date of birth, etc.)
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit
- Prepare patients for the health care visit by directing and/or assisting them to the changing and procedure rooms
- Perform a variety of patient care procedures within the Oregon Certified Medical Assistant scope of practice, and after demonstrating competency as established by the provider. This may include but is not limited to autoclave QA/QC, obtaining vitals, direct assist to performing provider during sterile and non-sterile procedures, triage patient calls and perform basic follow up calls to patients with follow up communication to performing provider.
- Prepares and cleans examination rooms between patients using universal cleaning protocols
- Store laundry per laundry protocol
- Prepares trays for procedures per protocol
- Sterilizes medical instruments and performs QC per protocol
- Accurately complete records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results as per standard operating procedures
- Records patients' vital signs including height, weight, pulse, blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, and respirations
- Process and document patient symptoms for physicians' review during clinical exams
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
- May assist with front office activities and varied scheduling tasks
- Reports test results as directed by the provider
- Assists with and performs inventory management
- Successfully completes all annual competencies

Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant through a nationally recognized program. CPR/BLS certified. Preferred: two years of recent healthcare experience working as a Medical Assistant with general knowledge of EMR software, HIPAA, State and Federal Scope of Practice regulations and clinical safety procedures. Radiology or Interventional Radiology experience highly desirable.

- Frequently assists in patient mobility. May often transport patients in wheelchairs, on a gurney, using a Hoyer Lift or Gimme-A-Lift device. Often transports diagnostic devices and patient care supplies of varying weights and occasionally moves paper/boxes of varying weights, up to 50 pounds.

- Constantly moves about the inside of the office/exam rooms for patient care and to access supplies and various diagnostic/office machinery, etc.
