Pay Range: $21.30 - $27.69 per hour, based on experience.

Full-time position with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 403(b) retirement plan, and a generous Earned Time Off (ETO) program.

Position Overview

Registers all patients for medical services as ordered by their physician. Provides professional, accurate and timely service within all admitting functions. This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.

Essential Functions and Duties
  • Demonstrate multi-tasking ability, attention to detail, and accurate data entry in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service, promoting goodwill and efficiency.
  • Assist patients and family members who may be experiencing varied emotions.
  • Communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Function as a patient representative during the registration/interview process.
  • Select the correct insurance plan and review eligibility responses.
  • Understand Medicare and Medicaid requirements and accurately assign encounter numbers.
  • Operate multiple computer programs as required.
  • Assist professional staff and special projects as requested.
  • Perform clerical or support duties, including collecting co‑pays and deductibles.
  • Back up financial counseling staff for payments and financial assistance information.
  • Collect valuables and medications from patients and document them for safekeeping.
  • Attend required meetings, training, and online trainings.
  • Support organizational vision, mission, values, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests.
  • Conduct activities with professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with laws and policies.
  • Deliver customer service and patient care with goodwill and efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties of similar complexity as required or assigned.
Education
  • Required:

    High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred:
    College courses in medical terminology or general/medical office practice experience.
Licensure / Certification / Registration

Required:

Experience
  • Required:

    Previous PC/Windows experience.
  • Preferred:
    One year customer service experience, collection and data entry experience.
Physical Requirements

Continually (75% or more):
Clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level.

Frequently (50%):
Sitting, standing, walking, lifting 1–10 pounds, keyboard operation, and motor vehicle operation.

Occasionally (25%):
Bending, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, carrying/pushing or pulling 1–10 pounds.

Rarely (10%):
Stooping/kneeling/crouching, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 11–25 pounds, motor vehicle operation.

Never (0%):
Climbing ladder/step-stool, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 25–50 pounds, heard whispered speech.
