Location: Bend, Oregon, rotate through all locations

Hours: 4-10 hour shifts, Shift TBD based on positions open. DXA shifts may include evenings and weekends depending on shift available.

Wages: Certified DXA techs starting wage $26.25 per hour; depending on experience, education and internal equity of current employees. Non-certified employees start at $22.00 per hour while in training program (3-4 months). This training program requires a 2-year commitment.

Job Summary

Limited licensed DXA technologists operate DXA equipment only to assist physicians in diagnosis of disease. They prepare DXA equipment; position patients correctly and accurately capture the requested diagnostic images.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

This position requires regular, reliable attendance. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, as the consequences of even a minor mistake can be significant for patients and providers.

  • Perform DXA exams in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Interact with radiologists and RPA’s to ensure quality exam images and patient care.
  • Provide patient care and education instruction to patients.
  • Communicate all quality issues, equipment issues, protocol changes, and procedure changes to X-Ray/DXA Supervisor.
  • Operate DXA imaging equipment only.
  • Verify patient records are up to date and accurate. Make appropriate changes in the computer and on patient medical record.
  • Assist with other clinic needs, including stocking and cleaning of exam rooms, schedule preparation, telephone inquiries, data entry and patient assistance.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule as hours and/or location may vary.
  • Required to maintain current state limited license through OBMI and ARRT
  • Must have the ability to work cohesively with others.
  • Performs other duties as necessary and assigned to keep the department running smoothly.
Education And Experience

OBMI Limited DXA License, ARRT DXA Certification, CPR Certification and Current CE’s. DXA experience preferred. If not currently certified, CORA is willing to provide training and path to certification. In Oregon, a DXA machine can be operated with a limited license and the requirements to obtain the license is approximately a 3-month commitment. CORA is offering to invest in individuals willing and able to commit to the 3-month learning journey with the final goal of being a DXA limited license tech for CORA.

Training

Investment
  • ASRT DXA course covering your didactic hours (online, 16 hours).
  • Approximately 12 weeks of performing DXA scans under direct supervision with a currently licensed technologist. Hours and location will be dictated by current DXA operating hours and assigned trainers.
  • Competency checklist – This will be at a CORA DXA location and performed by a representative from Pacific Health Care Training.
  • Fee to obtain your ARRT registry in DXA.
  • Fee for the OBMI limited license.
Return to CORA
  • You will be asked to sign an agreement to work as a DXA Limited License Tech with CORA for 2 years.
  • The shifts available will be as follows:
    • During Training: hours and location will be dictated by current DXA operating hours and assigned trainer schedules. May rotate through Redmond, Westside, and Southside locations.
    • Once Certified:
      Schedule TBD based on open positions. Shifts may be evenings and weekends. If a coveted 4/10-day shift is available, the shift will be opened internally, and seniority will be of highest consideration.
Salary
  • The wage during your training period will be $22.35.
  • The wage upon obtaining your license will be $26.25.
