Responsibilities

+ Evaluate and verify medication orders, ensuring their appropriateness and completeness for the specific age group served.

+ Verify all prescriptions not directly received from the prescriber or physician's agent.

+ Oversee the safety, appropriateness, and effectiveness of pharmaceutical care related to specialty products dispensed.

+ Assess patients at the initiation of drug therapy, develop a patient care plan, and monitor patients according to the care plan throughout therapy.

+ Communicate with patients, physicians, nursing staff, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members regarding patient status and therapy response.

+ Compound intravenous and specialty pharmaceuticals aseptically according to established guidelines and policies.

+ Handle sterile and hazardous medications in compliance with regulatory standards.

+ Ensure compliance with FDA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.

+ Provide indirect oversight of pharmacy technician and pharmacy support staff.

+ Sign off on prescriptions and respond to emails supporting board of pharmacy requirements.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.

+ Current Oregon Pharmacist License.

+ 1+ years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist preferred, open to entry-level candidates.

+ Solid knowledge of drug products and clinical pharmacy.

+ Proficiency in MS Office, particularly in Word and Outlook.

+ Ability to work flexible hours and rotate on-call duties.

Experience with medication safety and data entry.

+ Knowledge of pharmaceutical care and prescription handling.

Work Environment

Located in Bend, OR. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM, with on-call duties every other week. The team consists of three pharmacy technicians to provide support. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bend, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $44.09 - $78.70/hr.
