Overview
SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry. The Cybersecurity Architect evaluates, designs, and implements secure solutions across the enterprise technology environment, including IT, operational technology (OT), cloud platforms, infrastructure, and software development initiatives.
This senior, hands‑on role partners with the Cybersecurity Team, OT Engineering, Infrastructure, and Development Teams to strengthen enterprise security architecture, mature OT security capabilities, and advance secure‑by‑design practices within the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Lead cross‑functional security initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring measurable risk reduction.
- Develop IT/OT segmentation strategy aligned to ISA/IEC 62443 and Purdue Model principles.
- Conduct architecture and infrastructure reviews, providing secure design recommendations for new and existing systems.
- Design and implement scalable security architectures across IT, OT, cloud, and application environments.
- Collaborate with Corporate IT, Operational Technology, and Business Applications teams to ensure architecture supports current and future applications with a focus on scalability and security.
- Partner with enterprise architecture and engineering teams to influence long‑term technology decisions.
- Mentor the Sec Ops team to ensure compliance with all security requirements and best practices.
- Support development of monitoring, segmentation, and secure access strategies across enterprise environments (IT, OT, Cloud, Software Development).
- Educate process and control owners on technology control frameworks and their responsibilities.
- Design, implement, manage, report on, and monitor the overall security posture of the organization.
- Manage, develop, deploy, and support advanced security solutions for both cloud and on‑prem environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
- Drive innovation, automation, and integration in security application development initiatives.
- Serve as a senior SME for complex security projects or sub‑projects.
- Generate detailed reports and technical documentation for the Sec Ops team, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to incident response planning, vulnerability management, and risk assessment efforts as a senior technical resource.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise security architectures.
- Experience working in or supporting Operational Technology or Industrial Control System environments.
- Experience integrating security into software development life cycles.
- Strong understanding of identity architecture, network segmentation, and zero‑trust principles.
- Knowledge of industry frameworks such as NERC CIP, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and relevant OT guidance (e.g., NIST 800‑82, IEC 62443).
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong project ownership and organizational skills.
- Experience with MITRE ATT&CK for ICs.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
- CISSP, GICSP, or equivalent certification.
- Experience in energy, industrial, or regulated environments.
- Experience with Azure security architecture and cloud security controls.
- Experience implementing Dev Sec Ops or secure code tooling.
