Overview
ITS Services Support Technician - AV Temp (Part Time, Temporary Hourly, Non-Benefited) position within the ITS Department. The IT Services Support Tech is responsible for end-user workstation support, AV for college events, and hardware and software systems on COCC campuses. This is an entry-to-mid level opportunity for a professional eager to learn and contribute to COCC’s educational mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- PC Systems Support and Maintenance:
Set up all new and replacement computers and printers; troubleshoot system problems and assist end users with technical issues; provide technical support for campus AV systems; coordinate and manage campus events that require AV technologies. - IT Helpdesk:
Manage helpdesk queues and provide prompt, balanced support.
- Technical skills related to commonly used computer systems and applications.

- Professional demeanor with a customer-centric approach.
- Ability to learn from critical feedback from customers and supervisors.
Working hours may be flexible based on AV event scheduling. Work may involve occasional late or early hours or weekend work. The role involves primarily sedentary office work with the ability to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods, frequent use of hands and fingers, and near visual acuity for reading and computer screens. Occasional lifting over ten pounds for up to 15% of the time.
Computer screen usage is more than 50% of the time. Ability to kneel, stoop, crawl, crouch, and climb ladders. All essential functions must be performable with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Associates Degree or related degree in Computer Information Systems, Audio Visual Technology, or Electronic Engineering Technology with emphasis on computer or AV systems.
- At least one year of experience in computer support or AV technologies and systems.
- Additional experience may substitute for the AAS degree; equivalency must be clearly demonstrated by the applicant.
- Valid Oregon Driver’s License, or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
