Field Property Claims Adjuster: Bend

Field‑based role located in Bend, OR. Requires frequent travel to and from policyholder homes, and occasional deployment to catastrophe sites (typically 1–3 deployments per year, averaging 23 days away).

• Conduct virtual and on‑site investigations by visiting policyholder residences to assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate loss, and negotiate fair settlements.
• Use claims handling software, a company car, and a laptop to write estimates in a paperless environment.
• Identify and report subrogation opportunities, and report incidents involving theft, fraud, or arson to appropriate state and industry agencies.
• Perform duties independently, with work directly impacting management outcomes.
• Represent the company in public interactions, maintaining a professional demeanor consistent with management standards.
• Engage regularly with stakeholders, including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other relevant parties.
• Use strong customer service skills to negotiate settlements with policyholders.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Promote safety at all times and comply with safety/ergonomic standards set by the company.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service experience, preferably in retail.
• Construction or insurance experience is highly desirable and preferred.
• Excellent communication skills—both oral and written.
• Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Proficiency with smartphones and applications.
• Strong desire to learn about insurance policies and property damage to determine coverage applicability.
• Outgoing personality comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people.
• Valid driver’s license and bondable; subject to a motor vehicle record background check due to potential company vehicle use.

• Climb ladders to inspect roofs and work on rooftops multiple times per day.
• Work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
• Achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training exams.

• Bending, kneeling, pulling, pushing, sorting, carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing, reaching, standing, walking, seeing.
• Speaking (English), reading (English), writing (English), key entering.
• Exposure to uncontrolled outdoor conditions, excessive noise, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, and other hazardous environments.
