Field Property Claims Adjuster:
Bend, OR

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct virtual and on-site investigations by visiting policyholders' residences to assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate extent of loss, and negotiate fair settlements.
• Use claims handling software, company car, and laptop to determine claims-related damage and write estimates in a paperless environment.
• Evaluate and report on potential subrogation opportunities; report incidents involving theft, fraud, or arson to appropriate state and industry agencies.
• Act as a company representative in public interactions, maintaining a professional demeanor consistent with management standards.
• Engage regularly with stakeholders including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other relevant parties.
• Use strong customer service skills to negotiate with policyholders to settle the claim.
• Perform additional duties as assigned; promote safety at all times and comply with safety/ergonomic standards.
• Employees assigned to the Catastrophe team may be required to travel and commit to 13 CAT deployments per year.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment.
• Construction or insurance experience highly desirable.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook; proficient with smartphones and applications.
• Valid driver's license and bondable; subject to motor vehicle record background check.
• Willingness to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Physical ability to work in uncontrolled outdoor conditions, excessive noise, chemical/biological hazards, moving mechanical parts, and other potentially dangerous environments.
• Minimum passing score on all claims training exams.
