Fleet & Facilities Supervisor

Cascade East Transit is looking for a Fleet & Facilities Supervisor. This position will be based in Bend, OR. The successful applicant will bring direct experience supervising fleet and building maintenance teams. $5,464.00 - $9,031.00 monthly, DOE and Qualifications. Experience working in a public transportation environment and knowledge of OSHA safety rules a plus. Job Title – Fleet and Facilities Supervisor

Hours – With some exceptions, normal business hours

Position based in Bend, OR

Under direction of the Fleet & Facilities Manager, the Fleet & Facilities Supervisor supervises and provides oversight and assistance to the Mechanics and Maintenance Service Worker team members in keeping all Cascades East Transit (CET) vehicles and facilities running at their optimal level.

What You Can Expect
  • Day‑to‑day operational and preventative maintenance for all transit‑related CET vehicles, including but not limited to the inspection, cleaning, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of a variety of light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles and equipment.
  • Day‑to‑day operational and preventive maintenance for all CET transit‑related facilities including transit hubs, bus stops, shelters, as well as oversight of buildings and contracted work related to transit facilities.
  • Supervising staff and prioritization of work and projects.
  • Facilitating safety training for staff.
Essential Functions

A person employed in this position must possess the capability to perform the following duties to be considered for this position. The duties are essential functions requiring the critical skills and expertise needed to meet job objectives.

Supervision and General Oversight
  • Supervise staff including scheduling, assignment, and review of work.
  • Assist Fleet & Facilities Manager in evaluation of staff performance, providing coaching and guidance to the team, and participating in selection of new personnel.
  • Build relationships with vendors, contract services, and internal partners to ensure efficient communication on aspects of fleet and facilities.
  • Maintain shop area to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Maintain written safety procedures and provide appropriate safety orientation and ongoing safety training for employees in accordance with OR‑OSHA rules.
  • Conduct monthly team safety meetings to include topics such as personal protective equipment (PPE) use and shop safety issues.
  • Purchase equipment, parts, and supplies used for vehicle, mechanical system and facility maintenance.
  • May assist Fleet & Facilities Manager in preparing cost estimates, budget proposals, and coordinating with contractors.
  • Develop and maintain effective and harmonious and reasonable work relationships with others.
  • Maintain regular and predictable work attendance in accordance with COIC policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Fleet Maintenance & Oversight
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and CET schedules for all vehicles and mechanical equipment.
  • Provide emergency field assistance to disabled equipment as needed and appropriate.
  • Must have valid Oregon CDL class B with air brakes restriction lifted in order to transport vehicles as needed. Completion of this requirement within introductory period will be considered.
  • Repair diesel and gasoline engines, electrical, fuel, air, hydraulic, transmission, heating and air‑conditioning systems, ignition, exhaust, axle assemblies, brakes and related systems. Inspect and repair wheelchair lifts. Check fluid levels and add or change fluids as necessary; lubricate the vehicle/equipment in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and replace tires.
  • Diagnose and repair electronic systems including video equipment, electronic fare system, destination signs, automatic voice announcement system, and automatic passenger counter systems.
  • Operate a variety of diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric, and air‑driven tools.
