The Supervisor Environmental Services is responsible for the supervision of the Environmental Services staff. The Supervisor ensures staff are providing excellent customer service and that the quality of cleanliness of the building meets or exceeds the expectations of the organization. This position directly supervises staff on campus and is the primary backup for the Environmental Services Manager.

• Monitors staff throughout shift to ensure adherence to guidelines and job standards, ensuring facility cleanliness and sanitary guidelines are followed.
• Responsible for quality of service provided by the department.
• Inspects areas for cleanliness and directs staff to make proper corrections.
• Prepares, updates, and manages schedules.
• Reviews, updates, and approves staff timecards.
• Trains and mentors new hires to acclimate them to the expectations of the job and assists in ongoing training of staff as needed.
• Assists the department manager in hiring, coaching, and ongoing performance management of staff, issuing corrective action as needed and following up with caregivers to ensure performance standards are maintained.
• Coordinates, prepares, and delivers regular performance reviews. Maintains a regular rounding schedule with caregivers and other hospital staff, including peer supervisors and managers.
• Ensures all direct reports are current with compliance and safety requirements, implements and manages safety directives and goals, and monitors staff to ensure safety guidelines are followed.
• Provides and oversees the team’s delivery of customer service in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient, and accurate.
• Maintains positive working relationships and fosters a cooperative work environment with patients, guests, and other caregivers.
• Orders departmental supplies and notifies management of needed supplies.
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of cleaning processes, regulatory requirements, infection control policies, codes, and disaster response process.
• Directs and participates in quality improvement activities as required to improve the environment for St. Charles Health.
• Inputs needed repairs into the hospital facilities maintenance software per St. Charles Health System guidelines.
• Supports the vision, mission, and values of the organization in all respects.

• Provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests.
• Conducts all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality, complying with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Delivers customer service and/or patient care in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient, and accurate.
• May perform additional duties of similar complexity within the organization, as required or assigned.

Required:

High school diploma or GED.
Preferred:
Associate degree.

Required:

Ability to travel to all St. Charles Health System worksites required.

Required:

1‑year related experience and prior leadership experience.
Preferred:
Previous management experience.
