Position Purpose

The Operations Manager at the Company plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and accurate management of warehouse functions, including the supervision of drivers, loaders, and warehouse staff. This position oversees all aspects of dispatch operations, inventory control, and customer service to facilitate prompt and precise delivery of products to job sites. By collaborating with the Branch Manager and maintaining strict adherence to safety and operational standards, the Operations Manager supports the seamless execution of branch operations, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction in alignment with the company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of building materials in alignment with corporate standards.
  • Manage and coordinate the dispatching of trucks to guarantee timely and accurate deliveries to job sites, optimizing routes for safe and effective transportation by properly utilizing SRS routing technology.
  • Supervise the loading and unloading processes, ensuring prompt and precise handling of orders for vendors and customers, while maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Implement and manage comprehensive inventory control measures, including purchasing, weekly cycle counts, pricing strategies, and evaluation of damaged or outdated stock, to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
  • Lead and conduct safety audits and meetings to ensure full compliance with company safety standards, fostering a secure and hazard‑free work environment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of all logistics equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts, to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Administer and track work hours for the drivers and warehouse staff to ensure proper task allocation and adherence to labor regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to support overall branch operations, including order processing, end‑of‑day balancing, and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives across all functional areas.
Reporting and Supervision

The Operations Manager reports directly to the Branch Manager and has direct supervisory responsibility over the warehouse team, including drivers, loaders, and warehouse staff. This position also supports the indirect oversight of dispatchers, as required for efficient logistics and transport management.

Travel Requirements

Periodically travel within the local delivery area to oversee truck dispatch, inventory control, and customer service engagements.

Physical Requirements

This role combines desk‑based administrative tasks with warehouse responsibilities that require prolonged sitting and frequent lifting or moving of up to 100 pounds. Occasional exposure to varying weather conditions occurs while managing warehouse operations or overseeing outdoor logistics activities.

Working Conditions

The Operations Manager operates mainly in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven warehouse environment, requiring adaptability and efficiency in managing daily operations and supervising staff. The role demands swift navigation between diverse responsibilities, ensuring safety standards and operational targets are meticulously upheld.
