Job Description Brian’s Cabinets is seeking a Cabinet Design Engineer. This in-office position will work closely with our senior design staff to create cabinet drawings using Cabinet Vision, then use your expertise to engineer these projects for production.
At Brian’s Cabinets, we do more than build custom cabinets, we create tailored storage solutions that elevate your entire home. Located in Bend, Oregon, we’ve been serving the Pacific Northwest for over 48 years as Central Oregon’s largest custom cabinet manufacturer. We manage every step of the process thanks to our internal team of experienced designers, craftsmen, and installers. Our cabinets certify the highest quality, start to finish, and are built entirely in-house.
Responsibilities:
• Create bid for customers using proprietary software.
• Prepare Cabinet Vision designed projects for engineering, CNC-based production, and procurement ensuring cabinet specifications are accurate.
• Work with production & install teams to ensure project parameters meet production processes.
• Ensure cabinet parameters match the written specifications.
• Measure projects in the field to ensure accuracy of cabinets, placement and sizes.
• Check all appliance specifications and compare them to the cabinet drawings to ensure proper fit.
• Check cut-list and/or multi-cross-sectional view of each cabinet to identify abnormal parts, discrepancies in the cut-list, adjusted parts to accommodate angles, hand drawn parts, adjust system holes, and dadoes.
• Add parts to cut-list for hand-drawn parts, create shipping list, draw items as needed, and manually adjust the CNC list for required parts.
Qualifications:
• Extensive knowledge of cabinet doors and drawer design, construction methods, fabrication, and installation techniques is required.
• Experience with CNC interface and programming.
• Knowledge of cut-lists for cabinet assembly; cabinet installation experience is a plus.
• Ability to accurately perform basic math functions and understanding of geometry and trigonometry.
• Communicates ideas and information verbally and in writing so others clearly understand.
• Solid work ethic and ability to effectively collaborate with others throughout the organization.
• Detail oriented and strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent judgment and thoughtful decision-making skills.
• Readily adapts to a changing environment.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to learn and effectively utilize company systems and computer applications to accurately perform responsibilities; experience with Cabinet Vision is desired.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
