Job DescriptionThe Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic will repair and maintain industrial manufacturing machinery. The role ensures all machines function properly through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting support, and participates in continuous improvement initiatives and kaizen teams. The position is full‑time, on‑site at the Bend, Oregon facility.
Responsibilities- Ensure safety rules and regulations are followed (LOTO, fall protection, hot work, etc.).
- Perform uptime and downtime inspections, lubrications, and preventive maintenance following operating procedures.
- Dismantle and reassemble complex machines efficiently, precisely, and reliably.
- Inspect machine parts using various measurement instruments.
- Maintain inventories of equipment parts and supplies and place orders as needed.
- Provide training and development to operators and other maintenance personnel.
- Verify machinery readiness before coordinating with manufacturing to resume production.
- Communicate with internal departments and external vendors via face‑to‑face, phone, email, and radio.
- Observe mechanical devices to identify problems and test electrical circuits.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Identify and implement improvements to equipment, documentation, work systems, and processes.
- Use equipment manuals, schematics, parts breakdowns, online resources, and vendor communication to solve problems.
- Escalate technical, procedural, or personnel issues to direction lead or supervisor.
- Safely set up, operate, and disassemble manual and machine tools; perform turning, milling, drilling, shaping, welding, grinding, and cutting operations on machine parts.
- Associate degree in an industrial machinery‑related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in an industrial plant setting.
- In‑depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
- Good time‑management, computer, communication, and report‑writing skills.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software desired, Solid Works or Autodesk Fusion 360 preferred.
- Must be open to work off shifts and a rotating 4x10 schedule.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm, passion, and excitement for the work at Suterra.
Pay: $30‑40 per hour, DOE.
