Education:
H.S. Diploma (Minimum), 2- or 4-year Degree (Preferred)
Ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in a Planning role. Candidates will have good attention to detail, strong decision‑making skills, ability to effectively prioritize tasks. Will need to be flexible and adaptable to a fast‑paced, frequently changing environment. Must have great communication skills and be a team‑player. Ideally candidate will come from a Raw Material or Chemical Planning background. We would like candidates with experience in:
- Forecasting
- Demand Forecasting
- Vendor Forecasting
- Supply Planning
- Market Trends
- Supply Chain Analysis
- Materials Planning
- Order Fulfillment
- Conflict Resolution
Overall, the Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring that the supply chain operates efficiently, materials are available when needed, and production continues without disruption. The role requires a mix of strong organizational skills, problem‑solving ability, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
Duties- Supplier Coordination & Compliance:
Overseeing supplier deliveries, ensuring that they comply with agreed‑upon timelines and quality standards. - Demand Forecast Analysis:
Understanding the consumption patterns and forecasts to adjust schedules and material requirements, accordingly, avoiding both shortages and surplus stock. - Adaptability & Fast‑Paced Environment:
The planner must be able to react quickly to changing conditions, such as shifts in demand or production schedules. - Team Oversight:
In some cases, the Materials Planner may also have oversight of other employees in the supply chain, contributing to team coordination and operational efficiency. - Process Compliance & Continuous Improvement:
Ensuring all actions are in line with approved procedures to maintain consistency and quality control. - Corrective Actions:
Investigating and addressing any issues with receiving or accounting, especially related to purchase orders. - Supplier Relationship Management:
Managing tactical relationships with suppliers, ensuring clear communication, and resolving any issues regarding delivery, quality, or capacity. - Conflict Resolution:
Working proactively to resolve any issues related to material availability or order fulfillment. - Additional Responsibilities:
The role may include other tasks assigned, which can evolve based on business needs.
