Requirements
  • One‑year certificate from a college or technical school, or 1–5 years of relevant experience in a high‑volume production environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced mechanical skills, including the ability to read prints, interpret part tolerances, and perform precision fitting.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Mathematical proficiency: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Familiarity with machine shop tools and equipment used in maintenance and fabrication – drills, mills, lathes, hones, grinders, polishing and lapping.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet production deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work various shifts as needed.
  • Good attendance and punctuality record.
  • Drug-free workplace policy: a positive test for illegal drugs or alcohol while working will result in immediate termination.
Physical Demands / Work Environment

Working conditions require great mobility. Must consistently move/maneuver weights of 35–75 pounds and occasionally lift 35–45 pounds. Other physical aspects require bending, stooping, squatting and standing on concrete floors, often wet, for long periods. Climb ladders and retrieve materials from storage. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, vibrations and moderate noise.

Maintaining a neat and clean appearance is expected.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up presses and perform mechanical line changeovers to meet quality and run‑time standards.
  • Build, fit, and assemble tooling, die sets, punches, and form dies using precision tools such as hones and grinders.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and pneumatic issues related to bullet presses and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Fabricate replacement parts and tooling as needed to keep machines operating efficiently.
  • Inspect and maintain all manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal run-ability and minimal downtime.
  • Test-operate machines following repairs to confirm proper function.
  • Maintain and update press setup books and pick sheets.
  • Prepare tooling in advance based on production schedules and product changeovers.
  • Assist with training peers and newer employees in equipment setup and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, setup instructions, and part specifications with high accuracy.
  • Perform lubrication, cleaning, and preventive maintenance tasks on assigned equipment.
  • Monitor production for quality issues and contribute to problem‑solving efforts to ensure product consistency.
  • Track and trace root causes of equipment or lamination issues, both press- and vendor‑related.
HOURS

Monday – Friday

1st Shift: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

2nd Shift: 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm

PROGRAM & ONBOARDING

This position begins as an “Introductory Trainee” for 60 consecutive days. Management will evaluate suitability. Upon successful completion, status advances to “Regular Employee” and benefits commence.
