WHAT

YOU'LL DO

We are seeking an Experienced Aerospace Painter to join our Paint and Body Shop Team. This is a skilled, hands-on position focused on the final appearance, finish, and quality of completed aircraft rather than traditional assembly-line production. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in aircraft, automotive, collision, restoration, or comparable high-end refinishing and have the technical skills to independently manage complex bodywork, paint repairs, refinishing, and finishing tasks.

This role requires excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to evaluate a surface, determine the appropriate repair or finishing process, and deliver consistent, high-quality results with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Perform professional painting and refinishing on completed aircraft and aircraft components
  • Apply single-stage, high-solids base coat/clear coat, tri-coat, and other approved paint systems
  • Perform complex bodywork, surface preparation, and paint repairs on finished aircraft
  • Execute blending techniques to achieve seamless color and finish transitions
  • Perform color sanding, cutting, and buffing of fresh clear coats to achieve a smooth, high-gloss finish
  • Identify and correct paint defects including runs, dirt, scratches, orange peel, imperfections, and other finish-related issues
  • Perform detailed masking and protection of aircraft surfaces and components
  • Inspect completed work for color, gloss, texture, coverage, and overall finish quality
  • Determine appropriate repair and finishing techniques based on surface condition and project requirements
  • Follow technical specifications, work instructions, and established quality standards
  • Complete required production and quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas in a clean and organized condition
  • Work independently and take ownership of assigned projects while meeting quality and schedule expectations
  • Communicate effectively with other members of the Paint and Body Shop Team to coordinate work and resolve issues
  • Support continuous improvement of paint and finishing processes
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and PPE requirements
  • Support occasional overtime to meet project deadlines
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional painting and refinishing experience in aerospace, automotive, collision repair, restoration, or a comparable high-quality finishing environment (House painting experience will not be considered)
  • Demonstrated experience with professional paint application and refinishing techniques
  • Experience with single-stage, base coat/clear coat, and tri-coat systems
  • Proven ability to perform color sanding, cutting, buffing, blending, and paint defect correction
  • Strong understanding of surface preparation, masking, paint application, and finishing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex repairs and refinishing work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to identify finish defects and determine the appropriate corrective action
  • Experience working with fiberglass, composites, or other specialized materials is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to craftsmanship and quality
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and quality requirements
  • Ability to accurately complete required documentation
  • Self-motivated, dependable, organized, and capable of managing multiple assigned tasks
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Positive, professional attitude and strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Willingness to learn new techniques, processes, and materials
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
Physical Requirements
