Location: Bend

Compensation: $27.21/hour (plus $0.50/hour for bilingual Spanish)

Hours: Regular full-time (40 hours/week), weekend work required

The mission of Shelter Services at Neighbor Impact is to provide a safe, non‑congregate space for houseless Central Oregonians to shelter. We value the respect and dignity of all. The Shelter Advocate is responsible for providing case management services for shelter guests. This role will work with program guests in a compassionate and professional manner as it relates to the program objectives. Responsibilities include supportive interaction with program guests, shelter management, volunteers, partner agencies and team members. The Advocate also completes vulnerability assessments for potential guests and unhoused community members.

The weekly schedule for this position will include weekends. This is an onsite, in‑person position.

• Associate’s degree in human services or related field required,
• One year of direct experience in case management required
• Patience, punctuality, commitment, and responsibility required
• Passion for helping others and a desire to work in an organization that serves people who are experiencing poverty and houselessness required
• Weekend work required
• Required within 90 days of hire:

• Required prior to date of hire and throughout employment:

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred
• Two years of experience (i.e. employment, internships, and long-term volunteer position) in the field preferred
• English/Spanish bilingual preferred
• General knowledge of substance abuse and mental illness, and Trauma Informed Care preferred
