Position Overview
Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) under the supervision of the Clinical Division Director and direct supervision of a designated physician provide outpatient care to patients. Responsibilities include evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, documentation, inpatient consults, rounding, coordinating services, monitoring care plans, and referrals.
Work schedule:
minimum 40 hours per week with at least 36 hours patient contact. Participation in clinic call rotation covering evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Work primarily in an outpatient setting with adult and pediatric patients 16 years and older.
- Obtain medical history, perform physical evaluations, order and interpret lab and imaging studies.
- Document preprocedural and preadmission histories, physicals, and discharge summaries.
- Facilitate referrals and recognize medical emergencies, initiating necessary procedures and reporting to supervising physicians.
- Interpret and report diagnostic tests within specified time frames.
- Support quality improvement measures and collaborate with staff for patient care standards.
- Prescribe medications, perform procedures within scope of practice and Oregon law, and under supervising physician direction.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, provide customer service, and promote patient‑centered care.
- Document all patient care within EMR and complete billing tasks.
- Participate in physician meetings and policy development.
- Maintain CME activity, licensing, and certifications (unrestricted PA/Nurse Practitioner, federal DEA number, BLS, ACLS if sedation applicable).
- Keep active privileges rles hospitals and comply with MSO rules.
- Create a healing environment and maintain safety for caregivers and patients.
- Exhibit professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service.
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance and preventive behaviors.
- Comply with laws, policies, and corporate integrity initiatives.
Requirements:
- Completion of an approved physician assistant or nurse practitioner program and certification.
- Unrestricted PA/Nurse Practitioner licensure in Oregon; PA requires NCCPA certification; N‑P requires AANC, NCC, AANP, or AMCB certification.
- Unrestricted federal DEA number, BLS certification, and applicable ACLS certification for sedation.
- Current valid driver’s license.
Preferred:
- Experience in gastroenterology.
- Epic EMR experience.
- Experience with trauma, acute care surgery, or critical care.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with at least 36 patient contact hours.
- Participate in clinic call rotation (evenings, weekends, holidays).
- Proficiency with EMR systems (intermediate/advanced) and Microsoft Office.
- Physical requirements:
standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, occasional 25–50 lbs; ability to carry PPE.
