The hospital has an opening for a Night Shift Licensed Practical Nurse to float from ER to Med Surg. The Float LPN provides direct and indirect patient care in the emergency department and medical‑surgical department under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility indicative of professional expectations. Priorities of care are determined based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow.
The LPN communicates with medical providers about changes in patient status, symptoms, and diagnostic results, responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment. Services meet the patient’s psychosocial and physical care requirements in accordance with Southern Coos Health District standards of care, as defined in the Oregon State Board of Nursing scope of practice.

Skills, Knowledge, & Experience Requirements- High school diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of an accredited LPN nursing program required.
- Current licensure in Oregon as an LPN required.
- Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required; may be obtained within six months of hire.
- Successful completion of arrhythmia class preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a drive to provide exceptional service.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication, and computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and online software.
Nights, 3 × 12 for 36 hours.
Compensation and BenefitsThis is a full‑time onsite position eligible for benefits. SCHHC pays the full employee‑only amount for Health, Dental, Vision, and Basic Life & AD&D insurance.
Eligibility and ScreeningEmployment is contingent upon an acceptable pre‑employment drug screening and background check.
