Oncology Veterinary Technician (CVT) Lead

The Oncology Veterinary Technician supports the veterinary oncologist in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to patients undergoing cancer diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include diagnostic procedures, chemotherapy administration, anesthesia, patient monitoring, and client education. In this fast-paced environment the technician triages medical situations, follows veterinary team directives, and ensures timely and effective treatment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and strong communication skills.

As a lead, the technician ensures the oncology department operates at peak efficiency, refines workflows, and mentors staff to maintain high standards of compassionate care.

• Assists with diagnostic procedures and chemotherapy administration.
• Supports anesthesia and patient monitoring during procedures.
• Provides client education and emotional support.
• Triage medical situations and follow directives from the veterinary team.
• Mentor and develop staff, optimizing workflows and ensuring compliance with protocols.

• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential, or equivalent (RVT, LVT), from an accredited veterinary technician program.
• Proven clinical leadership or prior experience in an oncology setting.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and patient welfare skills.
• Required to attain an OR CVT license within 45 days of start if hired.
