Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across five continents. While we work in science, there's no magic formula to how we do it. And that's the kind of work we want to be part of.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Entry-Level Quality Control (QC) Analytical Chemist to join our team in a cGMP-regulated pharmaceutical laboratory at our Lonza site in Bend, Oregon. In this role, you will perform routine analytical testing and basic laboratory operations to ensure our raw materials and finished products meet the highest quality and safety standards.

What you will get:
  • An agile career and dynamic working culture.
  • An inclusive and ethical workplace.
  • Compensation programs that recognize high performance.
  • Routine Sample Testing: Execute testing for the release of raw materials, in-process intermediates, and finished products, as well as execute sampling and testing of cleaning validation samples
  • Laboratory Operations: Perform basic wet chemistry and laboratory operations while strictly adhering to safety and cGMP protocols.
  • Instrumentation: Safely operate and maintain analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, Dissolution, etc.) to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Method Support: Assist in the development, validation, and/or transfer of analytical methods under the direct supervision of senior chemists.
  • Good Documentation Practices (GDP): Maintain accurate, ALCOA-compliant records and ensure thorough peer-review of laboratory notebooks.
  • Quality Documentation: Draft, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Batch Testing Protocols (BTPs), and validation protocols (BTP-VALs) under direct supervision.
  • Compliance & Auditing: Support laboratory compliance during internal and external audits by maintaining a clean, audit-ready work environment.
What we are looking for:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • Knowledge: Foundational understanding of analytical chemistry techniques and cGMP regulations.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and basic troubleshooting capabilities for analytical instrumentation.
  • Documentation: Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and electronic laboratory systems (e.g., LIMS).
  • This role is fully on-site to foster close collaboration, active team engagement, and seamless daily operations .
