- Foster a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel appreciated by answering their inquiries about products in our department and the entire store.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of the products we offer, enabling you to provide insightful recommendations and answer customer questions effectively.
- Guide customers toward grocery items that meet their needs and inform them about current grocery specials.
- Ensure product quality by checking for freshness and monitoring sell‑by dates, taking necessary actions when needed.
- Label, stock, and manage inventory for department merchandise; ensure customers receive the freshest products they order.
- Communicate any discrepancies related to product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude to enhance customer interactions.
- Stay informed about current, upcoming, seasonal, and special promotional ads.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure customer safety.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping accurate temperature logs.
- Reinforce safety procedures and identify potential hazards; report concerns to store management.
- Conduct preventive maintenance checks on equipment and alert the necessary department or store manager about any needed repairs.
- Inform management immediately of any accidents involving customers or employees.
- Report any safety hazards or illegal activities, including theft, fraud, or robbery.
- This role requires the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum:
Ability to manage stressful situations, basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction), and effective communication skills.
Desired:
Previous retail experience and proficiency in a second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
