Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, in-field, contracted Outside Sales Representative role based in Bend, OR. The Outside Sales Representative will identify and engage prospective residential customers, conduct in-person consultations, and deliver compelling sales presentations that explain Sun Power’s solar solutions. This role includes developing new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong customer relationships, and guiding customers through the sales process from initial contact to contract signing.
The representative will respond to customer inquiries, provide accurate product and pricing information, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure a smooth installation and post-sale experience. Daily activities include territory planning, lead follow-up, striving to meet personal goals and metrics, and tracking sales performance using company tools and CRM systems.
- Candidates should possess strong presentation skills for explaining complex solar and storage solutions clearly and persuasively. No previous sales experience is required; extensive training is provided.
- Ideal soft skills include: grit, determination, enthusiasm, fast learner, ambition, initiation, persistence, and being a supportive team member.
- Candidates should possess relationship building and new business development skills to grow a customer base and sustain long-term partnerships.
- Candidates should possess customer service and communication skills to support customers before and after the sale and maintain a positive experience.
- Experience in outside sales, residential services, or home improvement industries is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently in the field, manage a local territory, and meet or exceed sales targets.
- Comfort with CRM software, basic data entry, and using mobile tools for lead tracking and reporting.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally for customer visits and prospecting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or interest in business, entrepreneurship, marketing, or a related field is a plus.
