This role combines patrol, emergency response, access control, incident reporting, and everyday assistance to a university community. It is a full-time, 12-month professional faculty position, and the minimum experience requirement is one year in security, military service, or a similar role.

• Patrol campus grounds by vehicle, bicycle, and on foot; check buildings and report hazards or suspicious activity.
• Respond to medical emergencies and other incidents, provide initial assistance, and coordinate with emergency services.
• Support campus events with traffic control, crowd management, and security screening.
• Provide walking safety escorts, building unlocks, and practical assistance to students, employees, and visitors.
• Write incident reports and shift logs, support access-control systems, and help with campus safety education.

OSU-Cascades uses a campus safety model focused on crisis response and works with Bend Police for law-enforcement services. This is a Campus Safety Officer opening, not a sworn police-officer recruitment.

• At least 21 years old and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of full-time or equivalent experience in security, military service, or a similar position applying security and property-protection practices.
• A valid Oregon driver’s license within 30 days of appointment and an acceptable driving history.
• First aid, CPR, and AED certification, or the ability to obtain them within 30 days; LEDS certification within 90 days.
• Computer proficiency and the ability to engage respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Successful completion of the employer’s comprehensive screening, including background and driving checks, medical examination, psychological evaluation, drug screening, and work-history assessment.

• Campus public-safety, security, law-enforcement, or military-police patrol experience; OC spray and handcuffing certification, or obtaining those certifications within 30 days.
