The Service Technician – Wellhead & Frac role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bend, OR. On a day-to-day basis, the Service Technician installs, commissions, maintains, and repairs wellhead and frac equipment at customer sites, ensuring safe and efficient operation. Responsibilities include performing field inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic issues, completing routine and preventive maintenance, and documenting work performed through service reports and digital tools.
The role interacts directly with customers and operations teams to schedule service, explain work performed, and provide guidance on equipment operation and care. The Service Technician also assists with equipment testing, inventory of service parts, adherence to safety and environmental standards, and participation in on-call or after-hours support as needed.
- Strong Maintenance & Repair and Maintenance skills to perform installation, preventative service, and corrective work on wellhead and frac equipment.
- Proven Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues in the field.
- Field Service experience, including working safely at customer locations, following site procedures, and completing accurate service documentation.
- Customer Service skills to communicate clearly with operators, supervisors, and project teams, and to represent the company professionally on site.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with oilfield or geothermal equipment; experience with wellhead, frac, or pressure-control systems is highly beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and work orders; basic proficiency with digital tools and service software.
- Commitment to safety, including adherence to PPE requirements, lockout/tagout practices, and relevant HSE standards.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting equipment, working outdoors, and traveling to customer sites as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in mechanics, industrial technology, or a related field is an advantage.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record; ability to pass required background, drug, and fit-for-duty screenings.
